The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a notorious drug baron, Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, popularly known as “Chisco Bee,” recovering more than 1.7 tonnes of cannabis and various foreign currencies in a major operation in Lagos.
Ibemesi, 42, who is the Managing Director/CEO of Franc CJ Ibemesi Nigeria Ltd., was apprehended in the early hours of Saturday, 15 November 2025, at his Daisy Garden Hotel located on Agbeke Street, Ago Palace Way, Isolo. His arrest followed several weeks of intensive intelligence gathering and surveillance by the Agency’s Special Operations Unit.
Following his capture, NDLEA operatives led the suspect to a warehouse linked to him on Pius Ezeobi Street, also in Ago Palace Way. A search of the building resulted in the recovery of 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of Loud, a high-grade strain of cannabis, with a combined weight of 1,762.8 kilograms.
Officials also seized a stash of foreign currencies found in the suspect’s possession, including $11,600, £2,000, €2,200, and 50 Canadian dollars.
In separate operations across Lagos, NDLEA operatives arrested two suspects Jamiu Kunle Kardoso and Oriyomi Waliu in Surulere with 65.15 kg of Canadian Loud. Another suspect, Taofeek Moraina, was apprehended in the Oyingbo area with 141 kg of Ghana Loud.
The NDLEA says investigations are ongoing as efforts intensify to dismantle the remaining network of the drug trafficking syndicate.
